Project Description
Hyderabad International Airport is the country’s premier PPP Airport. STUP played an integral and major role in the team which conceived the entire airport master plan of Hyderabad International Airport Limited (HIAL). The airport is rated today amongst the top 5 airports in the world for its capacity and was designed and constructed in a record timeframe of 3.5 years.
The site covers approximately 2,000 hectares. The master plan is developed in 4 phases for an ultimate capacity of 40 million passengers per annum, which is expected to be reached in 2050. Phase – I has been planned to handle 10 million passengers per annum and 100,000 tons of cargo per annum, both figures expected to be reached in 2020. The project also involves construction of Information Technology Parks and Business Parks to be developed in the vicinity of the proposed airport. Phase I required 100,000 m2 passenger terminal in two levels designed to handle passengers and a 10,000 m2 cargo terminal.
