Scheduling, construction management & coordination for extension of a regional train
France
Metros & railways
Project Description
The extension of the regional train RER E to the west of Paris includes drilling a new tunnel of approximately 8 km long between the district of La Défense in Paris and the Haussmann Saint-Lazare train station, redesigning the current line between Mantes-la-Jolie and Nanterre La Folie, and building three new train stations on the new underground section, located at Nanterre La Folie, Porte Maillot and CNIT La Défense.
The objectives of the project are to contribute to the desaturation of the network, to reinforce the public transport offer and the quality of service, to complete the network grid and to foster development of the communities. This project presents some particularities: an emblematic project by its size, several complexities and a project with many interfaces / numerous stakeholders.
Together with a leading construction firm, we were mandated with the Scheduling, Construction Management and Coordination (SCMC) mission. The SCMC is a key element in ensuring the timely management of the project.
