Project Description
Ghataprabha Right Bank Canal (GRBC) is one of the three components in Ghataprabha Project running for a length of 202 km and irrigating about 9000 hectares of lands in Belgaum and Bagalkot districts of Karnataka.
The scope of work for Assystem Stup included detailed engineering, comprehensive network plan and detailed survey of GRBC main canal of 82 km length. The project involved construction of various cross drainage and head works of about 450 nos such as single and double lane road bridges, aqueducts, super passage, canal syphons, cross regulators, head regulator, box culverts, adjustable proportionate and open flume modular type outlets, and vertical drops. The main canal is lined with plain cement concrete. Berms are provided at every 6 m in deep cutting.
