Bangladesh Railway upgraded its existing Dhaka-Chittagong Corridor by providing double track for unhindered to and fro train services. The assignment included the two bridges over River Bhairab & Titas along with completion of two sections of 6.25 km of railway track. The lengths of 2nd Bhairab bridge and Titas bridge are 982 m and 230 m, respectively.

The assignment of Assystem Stup included design of bridges, embankments, laying of metre guage track with future provision for conversion to broad guage, railway stations with associated buildings, platforms, railway yards, signalling and telecommunication.
