Assystem Stup has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a public sector enterprise which works as the construction arm of the Ministry of Railways for project implementation and transportation infrastructure development.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration, wherein Assystem Stup will support RVNL with a range of engineering services. This partnership is aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of RVNL’s infrastructure projects across India and potentially in other regions. The services to be provided are based on strategic alignment and project-specific requirements, ensuring a dynamic and responsive approach to RVNL’s evolving needs.

India’s transport sector is currently undergoing a major transformation, with multiple projects under development to improve urban and rural mobility as well as the distribution of goods within the country. A shift towards electrified railway and metro links forms a key part of the country’s ambition to achieve net zero by 2070.

Assystem Stup is well positioned to support this transition, with its experience in multiple major rail and metro projects over the past sixty years, and its recent acquisition of L&T Infrastructure Engineering Limited, which has strengthened its ability to deliver key services for transport infrastructure projects. Assystem Stup was recently commended by RVNL for its completion of designs for the first phase of civil works for the Indore Metro project in a record 22 month period.

Vikas Chopra, Chief Operating Officer, Assystem Stup, said: “We are proud to be deploying our expertise in support of RVNL and India’s transformative rail and metro projects. Assystem Stup has been actively contributing to the development of transport infrastructure in India for decades, and we are continuing to expand our capability to serve this.
