Design, project management & commissioning for EPRs in Europe & China

Europe & China
Nuclear

Project Description

The European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) is a new generation pressurized water reactor with a power output of 1600 MW. It incorporates higher safety requirements than those of previous generations and ensures competitive electricity production that does not emit greenhouse gases. In particular, the EPR allows a 17% reduction in fuel consumption compared to 1300 MW reactors and a 30% reduction in radioactive waste production.

Our client, a major player in the nuclear industry, called upon us to assist him in the design, installation and commissioning of EPR reactors, both within their engineering centres and at their construction sites in France, China, Finland and United Kingdom (Flamanville, Taishan, Olkiluoto and Hinkley Point).

Our scope includes carrying out engineering studies including design of elementary systems, mechanical & electrical equipment, instrumentation & control systems, cybersecurity & safety, etc., deployment of system engineering processes and associated digital tools such as PLM, project management activities and various site support services.
We are involved in activities on both the nuclear and conventional islands via the client’s different engineering centres, providing technical assistance, studying work packages and managing the overall design of infrastructures and systems.
More than 2.5 million hours of work have been spent since the beginning of the 2000s.
